Special Education Advocates and Consultants

Understanding the IEP and Special Education process is very difficult even for trained professionals. With laws and regulations that change on a regular basis, it can be challenging.

If you are a parent that does not have a full understanding of an IEP and/or the Special Education process, it becomes an even bigger challenge. Many parents are not aware that they have an equal role, so it is crucial to have a strong understanding of how everything works.

The goal of our California special needs advocates is to help you build productive dialogue and strong collaborative relationships with your child’s educational team and school district. Our dedicated California education consultants will provide you with the expert advice and tools you need to help your child succeed, and to help you become a more effective special education advocate for your child and their needs.

This is where our expert California special needs advocates come in. Our services include:

  • Review educational records
  • Attend IEP and 504 meetings
  • Do school/classroom observations
  •  Review private and/or school Assessment Reports (can do review of assessments as a standalone service)
  • In preparation for IEP advocates will propose goals, review supportive evidence and materials.
  • Will draft letters and written requests to school
  • Will draft complaints to the State Department of Education
  • Can recommend a list of attorney’s if needed

We have knowledge and expertise concerning special education and its applicable federal and state laws and we work within these laws. Extensive experience as California special needs advocates lets us educate parents about their educational rights and assist families in negotiating and resolving disputes with the school district in a collaborative manner. We help build the bridge between the district and parents in the most peaceful way possible in order to obtain the most appropriate educational program and services needed for a child with special needs.
